Warzone season patch tracker for Cronus Zen players
A dated log of Warzone patches this season, what changed for controller players, and whether Demon needed a rebuild after each one.
As of 2026-09-16, this page reports what the official Demon patch notes state, not guesswork.
Build facts on this page come from the release registry linked on the Demon page. That registry is the same one the browser installer reads, so what is listed is what actually ships.
Why this page exists
Every time Warzone or Black Ops 7 changes weapon behavior or trigger handling, a Cronus Zen script either needs a rebuild or it doesn't. Players want to know which. This tracker lists the public Demon builds, dated, with the notes that shipped alongside them, and flags whether the change was a bug fix or something else.
I'm not going to invent a Warzone patch number or a weapon change that isn't in the source material. The two builds below are the ones documented on the Demon patch notes page, and I'm sticking to what's written there.
The build log
| Build | Date | What changed | Update required? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Demon V5.6 | 2026-08-31 | Fixed staged control curves under Auto ADS/Fire using a shared firing-session timer. Quick toggles now save without re-running the full apply pass. Quick editor no longer opens during the menu chord. Idle screen now shows a vibration warning. | Yes, installed same day |
| Demon V5.3 | 2026-08-19 | Basic/Advanced/Expert compensation modes no longer require game vibration or trigger effects to run. Fixed quick-toggle chords corrupting Auto Ping and Auto Rapid Fire on profiles 2 and 3. Fixed a bad burst on PS5 before first weapon detection. Fixed an inverted response on extreme trim values. | Yes, installed same day |
Two builds, twelve days apart. That's the whole public record right now.
What each build actually fixed
V5.6 targeted something specific: control curves losing sync when Auto ADS/Fire and rapid fire overlapped, because they weren't sharing one firing-session timer. If you'd noticed the compensation feeling off in the first half-second of a burst, that's the bug this closed. It also stopped a menu-chord conflict where holding Menu could open the quick editor by accident mid-fight.
V5.3 was mostly about removing a hidden requirement. Before this build, Basic, Advanced, and Expert modes needed game vibration or trigger effects turned on to function at all. Most players don't run vibration. So a chunk of users were getting settings that silently weren't applying. That's a correctness fix, not a balance response to a Warzone patch.
Automatic mode, which detects weapons by adaptive-trigger feedback, still needs Trigger Effects on for PS5. That part didn't change.
Was any of this a response to a weapon nerf?
Not according to the notes I have. Neither V5.3 nor V5.6 lists a weapon-specific rebalance, a pattern remap tied to a named gun, or a movement-speed change. Both entries read as bug fixes inside the script itself: timer sharing, chord conflicts, corrupted toggles, an inverted trim edge case.
My take: that's actually the right kind of update to see, because it means the fixes are aimed at making existing settings behave consistently rather than chasing every patch note line by line.
If a Warzone patch does change gun handling enough to need a rebuild, the same registry will show it, dated, the day it ships. That's the mechanism, whether the trigger is a game patch or an internal bug report.
What Demon currently ships with
For context on what's under active maintenance: Demon is on build V5.6 as of 2026-08-31, with 5 menu categories and separate profiles for MP and Warzone, 5 each. It's a one-time purchase, no subscription, updates included. Two public builds exist so far, both documented above.
The category and profile counts in the patch notes match the product page.
How to check your own build
Plug the Zen into a PC with a USB cable. Open the Demon page. The installer shows the current registry build, and if you're behind, it flashes the update from the browser in about a minute. Your saved profiles carry over. Nothing downloads to the PC itself.
If the Zen isn't detected, that's almost always a cable or port issue. Not a software one. The setup guides cover both, and Discord has real people if the guide doesn't fix it.
Where to find this yourself
The full build log with the exact wording from each patch lives at verascripts.com/blog/demon-patch-notes. It updates the same day a new build ships, dated, no delay.
Closing note
If you're deciding whether to pick up Demon for Black Ops 7 or Warzone, the current build and full profile breakdown are on the product page: https://verascripts.com/demon. It's a one-time purchase, currently on V5.6, with separate profiles for MP and Warzone rather than one shared curve.
Frequently asked questions
Does Demon need a new build every time Warzone patches?
Not automatically. The two documented builds, V5.3 and V5.6, were both internal correctness fixes rather than responses to a specific weapon rebalance. If a game patch does require a rebuild, the release registry lists it the day it ships.
Do I need game vibration on for compensation to work?
As of V5.3, no. Basic, Advanced, and Expert modes run whenever fire is held, without needing vibration or trigger effects. Automatic mode still needs Trigger Effects on for PS5 weapon detection.
How do I know which Demon build I'm running?
The installer shows the build it just wrote, and the version label on the Zen after install matches what's listed on the patch notes page.
Will updating break my saved settings?
No. Saved profiles carry over between builds according to the update instructions on the Demon patch notes page. Only the underlying script logic changes.
Are Warzone and multiplayer using the same profile in Demon?
No. Demon ships with separate profiles for MP and Warzone, 5 each, so a change in one mode doesn't require touching the other.
How long does updating actually take?
About a minute from the browser once the Zen is plugged into a PC over USB. Nothing downloads to the PC itself.
